Fairies are the under-appreciated bread and butter of fantasy worlds! They’re usually as well represented as orcs and elves, but don’t get much credit due to their short stature. So, it was only fair to give them a chance to shine on their own!
And in Bovada’s latest release, you get to have a magical adventure with five different fairies! Join Bess, Becky and their tiny friends as you protect their forest home. And if you are successful, you might find yourself richly rewarded!
The slot is hardly a visual powerhouse. Bovada exclusives tend to be quite simple in terms of graphics and gameplay, and this one is no exception. The background image are just a bunch of cut down trees, with some obvious zoom-in. We imagine the artists are trying to make it seem like the player is a tiny pixie, too, but it just doesn’t look good.
We like the effort the developers spent making the fairies. There’s a clear mixture of innocence and sex appeal that will be a big hit with some gamblers. We cannot fault Bovada for putting pretty girls in their game, but some fairies seem a little too child-like. There are also no distinct animations that we could recall after playing Boss & Becky.
The layout is exactly the same for both desktop and mobile devices. It could be a lot better. The large spin square sits on top of the playing field, blocking your view of the fifth reel. Your paytable has also been forces into the options menu for some bizarre reason. It would have been much better to let it have its own separate button in the user interface.
The developers have not given us any official information about the slot’s volatility. However, with a maximum prize worth 1000x your total stake, it sits at a comfortable medium variance. Good jackpots paired with smooth, engaging gameplay – we loved every moment that we tested this game!
A Real Fairy Tale
The slot is played on a 5×3 board with 15 fixed paylines. Since winlines are fixed, you cannot turn some of them on or off to adjust the total bet.
We were unable the RTP for this Bovada release. Without knowing the house edge, we do not know if the game gives you good odds or not. As a result, we cannot recommend Bess & Becky to any players who might be interested. Not when such a crucial piece of information is missing thanks to developer negligence.
To change your total bet, click the coins button beneath the spin. Here, you can set your bet per line, and you can see what impact it has on the total stake. Choose a number between $0.15 and $150 per spin, and start spinning! We quite like this betting spread, as it gives awesome options for both casual gamblers and high rollers alike.
We have to admit, we had greater hopes for the Autoplay option. There seems to be little progress from older slots made by the same developer. You can only hold down the spin button to start auto spins, and let them keep going until you stop it manually. You do not get to choose the number of spins, or any kind of loss or win threshold.
Wins are awarded for collecting three or more identical icons in consecutive positions, from left to right. These winning combinations must follow one of 15 fixed paylines, otherwise their prizes will not be granted.
The blonde, lamp-carrying fairy is the highest paying symbol, followed by the warrior fairy. After them we have three civilian fairies, with all three sharing the same value. The same thing applies for letters A and K. The least valuable icon on the playing field are letters Q, J and 10, which are capped at 30x for a five-of-a-kind win.
Pros & Cons
Bess & Becky’s Beautiful Adventure
When a Wild symbol is part of a winning combination, it reveals a multiplier, which is then applied to the prize. The multiplier can be 2x, 5x or 10x.
Collect three or more Scatters to win ten free spins and 3x your total stake.
If you find three treasure chests on the playing field, you are made to pick between one of them. Each chest has a specific cash prize hidden within. Cross your fingers, and hope you get lucky!
