Stampede – Every so often, we like to come back to one of the better slots Betsoft have created. It’s an unfortunate truth that not all games are created equal. Back in 2017, it was clear the developer was betting on Stampede being their next big thing. In many ways, this release set the groundwork that all other Betsoft slots would use down the line. It’s simple, easy to grasp, and can award a jackpot worth 769,500 coins!

We remember being impressed by this game when it first came out two years ago. It showed a gorgeous background image, depicting the sprawling African Savanna. It even succeeded in incorporating animations for the clouds gently coasting along the distance!

In contrast, modern releases still haven’t moved from that point. You could make the argument that an absence of symbol animations was alright in 2017. Not so much in 2019, when developers had more than enough time to improve their slots visually. If anything, we regressed, because most current games don’t have animations in the background!

Stampede’s icons are what you’d expect from a Savanna themed slot. You’ll find playing card royals, and various types of animals spread across the playing field! The card symbols look out of place among the flora and fauna of this game. In contrast, each animal has a distinct appearance that helps make them feel unique and interesting.

Another thing that’s also somewhat different is the layout! The older version is still quite recognizable, but lacks the same sleek design that the newer version has. It’s actually quite colorful, which you, sadly, don’t see as much in modern user interfaces.

This Betsoft release has a high variance. There’s a big jackpot waiting for you, but it comes after a long grind! Whether or not you enjoy this really boils down to the type of gambler you are. One thing we don’t miss from older releases is having to calculate coin values into actual cash. Betsoft does adjust the paytable to display how much each icon is expected to pay depending on your bet level. However, it doesn’t adjust the value when you increase or decrease your coin value. By adjusting both, you can set your wager between $0.40 and $200 per spin!
