Abandoned Park
There are those of us out there in the world that would love the chance to go exploring the nearest abandoned theme park and check out the rusting of metal, the rotting of wood, the general decay of what was once a thriving and loved treat and piece of American entertainment.
And then there’s the rest of us! The normal people!
All jokes and clowning aside, it’s possible for everyone here! Maybe you’d like to visit a run down old park and feed the Urban Explorer inside of you, but you don’t live by one. Maybe you would like to but the fear of the unknown, (or the local PD!) is holding you back. Maybe you’ve just got a genuine curiosity. No matter the case, Abandoned Park is here to get it all out of your system!

Abandoning the Arts
Let’s get this out of the way here. “Abandoned Park” is not a bad game, quite the opposite. It features just about everything a slot jockey could want. There’s Free Spins. There’s multipliers. There’s auto-spin. Oh heck, there’s even a modest progressive jackpot! Almost anything you could ask for. So, what’s the problem here?
It just looks old. Really.
The graphics are not the strongest, almost as if each icon were done in a hasty attempt to be done with the workday. After these icons were passed and programmed in, the developers then put them into the game but didn’t worry much past that. Look at the attached screen shots. You see how everything looks stretched? Like the icons and symbols don’t fit? That’s what it looks like on any of the three screens this author had to look at.
It’s like the game was promising. There were hopes for this. This could have been a great game, but is looking as though someone may have been on a time schedule, came up on a crunch and just said, “Done. There it is, let’s send it out!
Moving on past these haunting graphics, (you see what we did there?) there is actually some fun to be had!
Not-So Abandoned Gameplay
To the Theme Park!
As stated above, there is some fun to be had here, you’ve just got to let yourself go and get into it!
“Abandoned Park” is played on a 5×3 reel with up to 20 adjustable lines. We would have liked to see more lines, but what can you do? With these 20 lines you are able to wager anywhere from 1 to 5 coins per line at 0.05 per coin. This means that your total bets per spin can cost anywhere from a nickel each all the way up to $5.00, making this a great game for those with small to medium bankrolls.
Once at the park and ready to go, that’s where the fun will start.
The icons you’ll be looking for as well as their pay follows: *Note – This is the table when playing for maximum coins
- Ace: Match 3=$25, Match 4=$250, Match 5=$1250
- King: Match 3=$12.50, Match 4=$125, Match 5=$625
- Queen: Match 3=$5, Match 4=$50, Match 5=$125
- Jack: Match 3=$2.50, Match 4=$18.75, Match 5=$50
- Ten: Match 3=$2.50, Match 4=$12, Match 5=$25
- Broken Clown: Match 3=$2.50, Match 4=$6.25, Match 5=$18.75
- Headless Teddy Bear: Match 3=$1.25, Match 4=$6.25, Match 5=$12.50
- Freak: Match 3=$1.25, Match 4=$2.50, Match 5=$10 /li>
- Humpty: Match 3=$1, Match 4=$2.50, Match 5=$10 /li>
- Rusty Bumper Car: Match 3=$1, Match 4=$2.50, Match 5=$10
As you can see from the table above, you actually want the generic symbols to come up, not the slot specific ones. You can also see that you will get yourself your wins whenever you get three, (or more!) on any payline going from the left.
Not mentioned above is the Witch. The witch will randomly appear and is your wild symbol, taking the place of any other symbols, except for the “ticket”.
The ticket is where some good stuff comes in here. Get three, four, or five of these and the mini games will start. This consists of a number of ducks in a shooting gallery where you get to choose some random ducks which are worth plenty of money in themselves, (the amount per duck is randomized). During our test play, we also came across the same type of mini game but with bumper cars. Are there more? You might have to tell us!
Multiplying Spins, Jackpots Galore
There is a multiplier going on quite often. Every time you win a spin, no matter how big or small, a multiplier starts up and goes up by one up until all wins are X5, or you come across a losing spin. This does make for some pretty good wins even when just matching up the lower paying symbols.
As for the jackpot, there is a random jackpot which constantly goes up by 1% with every spin. This jackpot is randomized, meaning that you can win it at any time after any spin. There is no requisite for walking away with some extra winnings!
Pros & Cons
So, is Abandoned Park for you? Could be. There just isn’t a whole lot we could find wrong with this slot aside from the artwork being, well, not the greatest.
Moving past the graphics of the damned, this slot does carry almost all of the features you could want from any other modern slot. Whether or not you would like to spend your time hanging out in the graveyard of carny-culture is your decision!
