Dragon Kings
China has existed in some form or another for thousands of year at this point with or without some Dragon Kings. Because of that, it can be difficult to imagine there are creatures older than this oriental powerhouse! But that’s exactly what players will be facing off against in this slot.
Five mighty dragon kings can be found on the board, with each one willing to offer their blessing to the worthy! And when all five come together, they guarantee the largest win in the whole game!

We like the story, but the execution of the theme isn’t nearly as great as we hoped. This 2018 release follows the design book of every generic Chinese slot in existence. A truckload of red and gold everywhere and stereotypical icon designs. If nothing else, the background image of the waves crashing into the tall rocks, and a distant monastery look beautiful.
It’s just a shame the rest of Dragon Kings’ graphics aren’t up to the same standard. It’s not a bad looking game, but just about every aspect of it has been done to death by now. We can’t say that Betsoft haven’t tried, however! There are some minor animations here and there, but nothing that will make your jaw drop.
The only symbols we liked were the dragons and the magical pearl. All other icons were either playing card royals, or generic Chinese themed symbols. There’s only so many times we can see gold coins, koi fish, jade thrones and golden crowns before we lose interest.
The layout for this slot is very easy to navigate, with every button being cleanly labelled. At the same time, the developer went out of their way to make the user interface fit with the theme.
Dragon Kings has a medium variance, balancing between huge jackpots and frequent pays. Obviously, it can’t output the same rewards as a high volatility game, but it’s nothing to sneeze at, either. The five dragons bring their own special features along with them! And, if that wasn’t enough, gamblers are also treated to various jackpots!
A Royal Reception
This release is played on a 5×3 board, with an extra space added onto the fifth reel. This position is only used for winning the jackpots, so it’s something you can safely ignore during normal gameplay. There are a total of 10 fixed paylines which you cannot turn on or off.
The slot’s RTP is 95.20%. This is below our 96% recommended mark, which is a shame. Dragon Kings is more than capable of creating some fantastic wins when it wants to. But with a house edge that high, the odds aren’t stacked in your favor.
To choose your total stake, simply adjust the line bet until you find a wager that suits you. We’re sad to report there’s not much variety in choice. The bare minimum you can stake is $0.10, while the maximum is a measly $10 per spin. This makes Betsoft’s release perfect for casual and mid-range players.
If you’re feeling lazy, you can make use of the Autoplay option! Choose the number of auto spins to be played, as well as win or loss limits!
Collect three or more identical symbols in adjacent positions from left to right to create a winning combination! Said win must follow one of ten active paylines. Otherwise, the win doesn’t count, and the cash prize is not awarded to the gambler.
Getting five dragons not only awards the strongest jackpot Dragon Kings can offer, but it’s also the most valuable icon! Five dragons pay 200x, followed by the golden crown at 100x, and the koi fish worth 50x for five-of-a-kind wins. From here, we get three sets of symbols with repeating values. They include the jade throne and the golden coin, A and K, and Q and J.
Pros & Cons
Blessings of the Bonus Dragons
There are five dragons total, and all of them come with a mini bonus that is played when they appear. The dragons, their positions, and associated special features are listed below.
Azure Dragon: A single free re-spin is replayed. This dragon only appears on the first reel.
Black Dragon: All wins have a 3x multiplier applied to them. It appears on the second reel
Dragon King: When part of a winning combination, the king doubles all prizes! He only appears on the third reel.
White Dragon: This dragon will create another version of itself to its left or right. This new dragon will not create any new dragons. It can only appear on the fourth reel.
Red Dragon: This beast grants a cash prize worth up to 400x your total stake if it appears. It only appears on the fifth reel.
Collect three, four or five dragon pearls to win six, ten or fifteen free spins. The number of extra turns is doubled if the magical pearl appears on the sixth reel.
The pearl is also used in ensuring the jackpot fires. There are four jackpots in total. To trigger one, you need the appropriate dragon or dragons, the dragon king, and the magical pearl in reel six. The bigger the jackpot, the more difficult it is to win the prize. To win the ultimate, diamond jackpot, players have to win all five dragons and the pearl on reel six.
