Mr. Vegas
Everyone dreams of being a high roller in Vegas, going in night after night and netting huge jackpots. You lose some, but win even more, and keep your lavish lifestyle going. Gorgeous women, the finest champagne, and the thrill of the casino night after night. What more could a man possibly need?
For most of us, such a fantasy will stay only that. But even if you never make it to Vegas proper, that does not mean you cannot dream a little. And dreaming is exactly what Mr Vegas lets you do.
Screenshots
If the visuals seem a little primitive to you, keep in mind this Betsoft release came out in 2010. Quite frankly, we are quite pleased with this slot. Leave the game idling long enough, and the characters will wink, giggle or perform various other animations. The background image is also very flashy, in true Vegas fashion. Admittedly, it annoys our eyes a little bit, but so does the genuine article. So we should probably praise them for getting it right?
We also love the user interface. It is set up like you are a gambler in front of an actual table. Coin choice is a checkbook, while bet per line, number of active lines and spin buttons are all credit chips. Above the reels, you can keep track of the progressive jackpot, and how many more pieces you need to unlock one of the available bonuses.
This Betsoft release has a medium variance, leading into high on some occasions. It plays like medium volatility for the most part – unless you plan to chase after the progressive jackpot. At that point, it takes out its baseball bat, and whacks your wallet until nothings left.
A Winning Smile
The title is played on a 5×3 board with 30 flexible paylines. That means gamblers can turn some or all paylines off in order to lower the minimum bet. Personally, we do not recommend doing this, as it lowers your chances of winning later down the line.
As experienced players may be aware, slots with progressive jackpots usually have an atrocious RTP. Unfortunately, Mr Vegas is no exception, sitting at 93.6%, far below the 96% average.
By changing the bet per payline, number of available paylines and the coin value, gamblers can set their total stake. The minimum is just $0.01 per spin, while the maximum goes up to $150 for each turn.
The Autoplay section really shows the age of this Betsoft release. It looks a little clunky with its generic dropdown menus, but it gets the job done. Set the number of spins, type in your loss and win limits, and let the reels perform their magic.
Three or more identical symbols adjacent to each other from left to right form winning combinations. The exception to this are the three ladies, whose icons can grant pays with only two icons. For a win to be valid, it has to follow one of the currently active paylines.
The redhead is the most valuable symbol, followed by the blonde and dark-haired woman. The bartender comes after them, followed by the croupier, the Las Vegas sign, a game of roulette, champagne, chips and a blackjack game.
Mr Vegas’ Secret Tricks
If a dice symbol lands left or right of Mr Vegas on the first, second or third reel, it activates the free spins special feature. A pair of actual dice will be thrown, and the displayed value will be the number of played free spins. If the dice display two of the same number, a 2x multiplier is applied during free spins. More bonus turns can be won if the same combination appears while free spins are already being played.
Collecting three or more slot machine icons will start free spins on the mini-slot. There really is not much interesting to say about this bonus. Its novelty wears off quite quickly.
Each symbol has a chance to appear with a part of the money wheel. When five of these parts are collected, the Money Wheel Jackpot is played. The wheel can display the following prizes:
- ‘
- Free spins
- Bonus Rounds
- Cash Prizes
- Progressive Jackpot (only at maximum bet)
If Mr Vegas appears on the first, third and fifth reel, he triggers the roulette special feature. Here, Mr Vegas will pick a number and spin the roulette. This bonus is a certain win, so just relax and let our protagonists luck rub off on you.
Pros & Cons
Final Thoughts
There’s just something magical about taking a plane and jetting out to Vegas or maybe taking that long overdue road trip throughout the desert with old friends to hit up the strip.
This slot is just not going to be the same thing as either of those 2 things, let’s be honest here. However, it’s pretty damn close. If you’ve got the urge to hit up the strip and try to dance with Lady Luck, you won’t go wrong here!
