Yak, Yeti and Roll
In the cold, snowy north, many valuables still wait to be found. Hidden beneath snow and ice could be fantastic treasures, long extinct beasts, or even magical artifacts!
Of course, not everyone can handle the cold, harsh conditions. Fortunately for our friend Yak and his pet Yeti, that means a surefire way to get real rich, real fast! Join them as they hop on their massive wagon and traverse the frozen wasteland, and earn some great wins along the way.
Screenshots
This 2018 Betsoft release shows a background image depicting a well-traveled path through a beautiful, snowy region. In the background, you can large hills and a gorgeous, blue sky with white clouds passing by.
Animations are a mixed bag. It’s often not that the movement itself is not fluid – it’s the total absence of it afterwards. You see this best when the yeti moves the cart. This is a problem that we have noticed all the way back in Ogre Empire. Sadly, it does not seem like the developers plan to fix it.
The layout is also well done. The green really does not fit with the dominant white color present elsewhere. Despite that, it is very easy to use. Everything is cleanly labelled, so even new players can just jump in and enjoy. The user interface differs slightly between desktop and mobile versions of the slot. This is mostly to optimize controls for touchscreen devices.
Yak, Yeti and Roll has a medium volatility, offering the best experience of the bunch. Wins tend to be frequent, jackpots are satisfying, and you do not have to mindlessly grind for a massive prize!
A Winter Wonderland
You play this game on a 5×3 board with 20 fixed paylines. That means gamblers cannot choose to turn some or all paylines on or off to lower their minimum bet.
Depending on how you play this Betsoft release, the RTP will vary. During normal gameplay, it will sit around 95.93%, just shy of the 96% industry average. However, if you buy the special feature with cash, your RTP shoots up to 96.54%!
To change your total bet, simply click the plus and minus buttons next to the total bet section.
This will display your current wager. You can set it as low as $0.20, and as high as $20 per single spin. Great for casual and mid-range players, not so much for high rollers.
The slot lets you make use of its somewhat limited Autoplay feature. You can set the number of spins to be played, as well as a win and loss limit. However, any additional goodies, like stopping on a special feature, or having a single win threshold, are not implemented.
To win a cash prize, gamblers have to collect three or more identical symbols in consecutive positions from left to right. These icons must follow one of the active paylines, or else the prize will not be awarded.
Yak the Eskimo is the most valuable symbol, followed by his faithful husky dog. The bearded reindeer comes next, then the igloo, the cart, a pair of mittens and A and K. Letters Q, J and 10 are the lowest paying icons in the game. Wilds do not have a cash value of their own.
Ploughin’ in the Deep
Betsoft’s release makes use of cascade reels. Each time a winning combination appears, all symbols that were part of it explode. This leaves empty spaces for existing icons to fill – while brand new ones fall from the top of the screen. This allows players to chain multiple wins together, earning multiple prizes for the price of a single spin.
Pros & Cons
The developers clearly want you to do this! Their Bonus Trail rewards you for landing multiple wins from a single spin. It increases your multiplier, grants cash prizes, and even rewards free spins once you pass a certain point.
Free spins also come with a multiplier, and persist for the duration of the special feature.
If you do not feel like grinding for free spins, you can reach into your pockets and trigger them immediately. It will set you back 130x your total bet, but it guarantees 18 free spins with a 4x multiplier.
